Getting the most out of UPT.com

UPT.com's mission isn't just to provide a repository for knowledge about pianistic expertise, but above all to make it as easy as possible for its users to discover and explore the full range of knowledge it offers, access it quickly and share their thoughts and questions with others. The Subscribers' Area is a complex website, covering an expanding range of fields of knowledge and offering a rich diversity of means with which to cover them, present them as topics for community discussion, and pursue research into them. In all these respects, newcomers to the website will inevitably be unaware of the full extent of what's actually available to them and, even as long-term frequent users, often fail to acquire the savvy needed for getting the maximum out of them.

UPT.com provides no less than six channels for obtaining guidance on using the site effectively:

  • Sitemap - a list of all the website's accessible pages, providing hyperlinks to open them. (The list's actually displayed size depends on the  level of admission at which one has signed up as a user of  the site!)
  • Search - generates a list of all pages of content relevant to the particular search-terms (keywords) you specify. Optionally, searches can be narrowed-down so as to generate lists of specific forms of content only.
  • FAQs - Basic "quick-start" guides for using each of the site's facilities.
  • User-guides Wiki - in-depth tutorials on how to use particular facilities.
  • Forum - both our Open Forum and Subscribers' Forums have sub-forums where you can seek further help on using the site's facilities.
  • Support tickets - for requesting help from UPT.com's Core Team in the event of your encountering any additional problem using the site.
